A very good morning to the Excellencies, Principal, teachers and my dear colleagues. My name is ... I study in class ... standard. This is an auspicious occasion which gives us an opportunity in the memory of a great patriot leader of the country. It is celebrated worldwide, nationally (as Gandhi Jayanti) and internationally (as International Nonviolence Day).

Today, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, I would like to focus on the life history of the father of the nation. Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat, a small town in India. His parents were Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai. After completing his primary and secondary education, Bapu went to England in 1888 to pursue higher law studies. After completing his law degree, he returned to India in 1891 and started participating in the independence movement of India. Once he became a victim of racism in South Africa which badly affected his soul, he started opposing the social evil of racism.

After returning to India, he met Gopal Krishna Gokhale and joined the movements of the Indian freedom struggle to raise his voice against British rule. On the road to India's independence, he started various movements like Non-Cooperation Movement in 1920, Dandi March in 1930 and Quit India Movement in 1942. He was a great patriot leader whose sustained efforts forced the British people to get back on their hind legs. 1947. We celebrate his birth anniversary to pay tribute to him and thank him for giving us an independent India.

    Thank you

Gandhi Jayanti Speech 5 - Mahatma Gandhi's Role in India's Struggle for Independence

Honorable Principal, Vice Principal, respected teacher and my dear friend - heartiest congratulations to one and all!

I would like to give a speech from Sarthak Pandey - Grade IX, Section (C), "Role of Mahatma Gandhi in India's freedom struggle" on this auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Needless to say that the role of this great figure in winning India's independence cannot be ignored and history speaks of his efforts. Popularly known as Bapu, he was a man of great character and fortune.

Born on 2 October 1869 as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, he became the great political leader of India during 1900. He took India's independence movement into his own hands and guided the country to achieve independence. Our country was ruled by the British for over 250 years. To join the movement, he returned from South Africa in 1915, leaving behind his illustrious career in the field of law. He requested Gopal Krishna Gokhale to join the nation for this reason.

His contribution to the Independence Day movement cannot be expressed in mere words. Mahatma Gandhi, along with other freedom fighters, such as Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Subhash Chandra Bose, Sarojini Naidu, Lala Lajpat Rai and others, inspired the British to leave India. Many of his policies, mainly the policy of non-violence, became an important tool in winning back the independence of the country. With his effective policies, he became a source of inspiration for people nationwide.

Lord Chelmsford, the then Viceroy of India, invited Mahatma Gandhi to a war conference in the city of Delhi. To earn the trust of the British Empire, Gandhi gave his consent for the people to join the army for World War I. However, he noted in a letter to the Viceroy that personally "he would not injure or kill anyone, friend or foe".

There is a village in Gujarat known as Kheda, which was once severely affected by the floods and local farmers requested the higher authorities to withdraw from taxes, after which Gandhi refused to pay the farmers' taxes. Launched the pledge campaign for Apart from this, he also led the social boycott of the talaktars as well as the campaign of Mamlatardars, i.e. revenue officials. In 1918, the government heard his pleas and granted a rebate on revenue payments until a famine situation arose.

Thus, apart from taking an active part in India's Independence Day movement, Gandhiji worked for the disadvantaged section of society on many other fronts within the country, such as farmers, untouchables and women in finding their rightful place in society. helping out.

Interestingly, he was a prominent spokesperson at the All India Muslim Conference and the honor was returned to him by the Empire in South Africa during Indian Ambulance Corps time. His participation in the Khilafat movement elevated him to fame and he became a national hero in no time.

In the end, it can be said that he was a man of great caliber whose participation and great leadership in India's struggle for freedom cannot be forgotten by the generations to come.

It's all from my end, thanks!
